QPR to face a 15 point penalty!!! Empty
PostSubject: QPR to face a 15 point penalty!!!   QPR to face a 15 point penalty!!! EmptyFri Apr 29, 2011 6:26 pm

British newspaper The Sun report that the FA are set to award QPR a 15 point penalty and strip them of practically certain promotion and make them slug it out in the playoffs.

The club have been charged on 4 cases, the illegal transfer of Alejandro Faurlín who was signed for the club in 2009 by an unrecognized 3rd party, fielding an un-registered player throughout the 2009/10 season (which was also Alejandro Faurlín) and forged papers by the chairman and the manager of QPR allowing him to play (counts as 2 charges).

QPR manager Neil Warnock heavily criticized West Ham United a few years a go when West Ham were found guilty of illegally transferring Carlos Tevez who kept West Ham in the league that year, they were fined £5,500,000 but tougher rules have been introduced following this case to make it a practical certainty that a points deduction will be issued. Luton Town (the only club to have been found guilty of illegal transfers were given a 10 point penalty and they were relegated that year and have since gone into administration.

The Sun claimed that the evidence was damning and that they are defending the in-defensible. However, QPR have released a statement about this story saying:

QPR official website:

UPDATED CLUB STATEMENT
Posted on: Fri 29 Apr 2011
QPR's lawyers have written to the FA requesting they instigate an investigation into the alleged source of the article in today's The Sun newspaper (Friday 29th April 2011) and that they issue an immediate statement confirming that the alleged FA source in the article does not represent the views of the FA and that the FA's policy is not to make public comment on the charges or evidence until after the hearing.

The Club shall not be making any further comment on the charges until after the hearing

So QPR will be perusing a legal case against the Sun newspaper. The hearing on this case will start on 2nd May and a verdict will be passed on May 6th, the day before the end of the season! (For Cardiff's sake, I hope they're guilty and they get a points deduction making us go up auto)
